Mackenzie McGurk failed to score in two matches against Scotland, managing only 16 runs in one game. He did impress with a quick 50 off 30 balls against England but was not selected for the five-match ODI series thereafter.

Australia's regular captain Pat Cummins will lead his country in the three-match ODI series against Pakistan next month. This will be his first time captaining the ODI team since winning the World Cup in India last November.  


Regular fast bowlers Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc have also been included in Australia's 14-member squad. Opener Jake Fraser-McGurk, who struggled to score runs during the T20 series against Scotland in September, has been given another opportunity.

Jake Fraser-McGurk has been given another opportunity after struggling to score runs during Australia's T20 series against Scotland. He failed to open his account in two matches and scored only 16 runs in one game. However, he did manage to impress with a quick 50 off 30 balls against England but was not selected for the five-match ODI series thereafter.

The Australian team is as follows: Pat Cummins (captain), Sean Abbott, Cooper Connolly, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Aaron Hardy, Josh Hazlewood, Josh Inglis, Marnus Labuschagne, Glenn Maxwell, Matthew Short, Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc, Marcus Stoinis, and Adam Zampa.
